The mission of the Behavioral Measures Core Facility is to support clinical, prevention and other cancer research by assisting in identifying or adapting existing measures of key behavioral constructs, or if needed, developing new instruments to fit an investigator's research question or target population.
The Behavioral Measures Core website provides an online catalog of instruments commonly used in cancer research. Each instrument record consists of:
- a summary of psychometric properties
- a copy of the actual instrument, viewable in Adobe Acrobat Reader
- a copy of the first page of a key article, including the full abstract, that describes the instrument's development
To search the database of available behavioral measures instruments, please click on the "Behavioral Measures Search" link in the menu at the top of the screen. Please note that certain areas of this web site require Adobe Acrobat Reader. See Adobe's website at http://www.adobe.com to download the free Acrobat Reader software if needed.
Apology is made for the poor quality of some of the instruments contained in this site. The database administrator is in the process of revising, editing and/or obtaining clean copies of those instruments of questionable quality. Your patience for the duration of this maintenance is most appreciated.
Copies of the instruments are provided here for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES only. Measures that are copyrighted have been noted, and copyrighted measures that are presented here in PDF format are displayed only if permission of the copyright holder has been obtained. It is the responsibility of the user to obtain any necessary permission from the author to use or copy an instrument that is protected by copyright law.
Development of this site was made possible by a grant awarded to the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute.
Any questions, comments or concerns about the contents of this site will be welcomed. Correspondence may be directed to the database administrator in the Department of Family Medicine, Division of Research at Case Western Reserve University, via e-mail at email@example.com.
